Artificial Intelligence is one of the most talked-about topics in hospitality today — and for good reason. From guest messaging to pricing strategy, AI has the potential to transform hotel operations – but the industry’s chatter seems to focus on big ideas and future applications, rather than realistic uses for here and now.
At Triptease, we know hotels need hands-on solutions that address the operational challenges they face every day. That’s why we’ve launched a new video series showcasing real AI and automation use cases for hotels, starting with a simple but time-consuming task: weekly revenue reporting.
In our first instalment, Triptease Co-Founder Charlie Osmond helps Lotte New York Palace automate their report generation process — which could save their revenue team hours each week and lay the groundwork for more advanced AI adoption.
Here’s exactly how we did it.
The Challenge: Repetitive Reporting Tasks That Steal Valuable Time
Like many hotels, Lotte Hotels uses Amadeus Demand360 for forward-looking market intelligence. The platform provides valuable data, but the process of extracting and formatting it for internal reports can be tedious and time-consuming.
As Derek describes it:
“We use TravelClick Demand 360…to look forward, spot trends and benchmark our performance against the competitors. We put that data together into a weekly revenue reports packet that we present in our weekly revenue meeting. It takes time for our revenue analysts to pull, download the information, and copy and paste it….Every minute that we are doing tasks as opposed to actual analytics is time I would love back”
This manual process that Lotte’s analysts used involved:
- Logging into the platform
- Selecting the correct property and date range (180 days ahead)
- Applying various filters (e.g. General Group, Transient, Corporate)
- Running reports multiple times for each segment
- Exporting data into Excel and formatting it to Lotte’s specifications
It added up to 70+ clicks per report, repeated weekly — a clear opportunity for automation.
The Solution: Automating Reports with Axiom.ai
To automate this workflow, Charlie used Axiom.ai — a no-code automation tool that runs directly in the user’s browser, ensuring all data stays on-device and secure.
The automation performed the following steps:
- Logged into Demand360 using stored credentials
- Navigated to the reporting section of the platform
- Applied filters to generate the correct view
- Selected custom date ranges, calculated dynamically
- Applied multiple sub-segments
- Exported each report to Excel
- Repeated the workflow across all required segments
The result: What once took hours each week is now executed automatically, in just a few minutes, with no user intervention.
Key Takeaways for Hoteliers
This case study highlights a few core lessons for any hotel team exploring AI and automation:
- Repetitive tasks are a natural first step
The best candidates for automation are repetitive, rules-based tasks that happen on a fixed schedule. Weekly reports are a perfect example. - You don’t always need a data scientist
With modern no-code tools like Axiom.ai, your team doesn’t need to write code to build powerful workflows. Most hoteliers can replicate similar automations with a bit of experimentation and support. - Time savings = strategic capacity
The goal of automation isn’t just efficiency — it’s impact. By reducing time spent on manual reporting, Lotte’s revenue team can now spend more time spotting trends, optimizing performance, and responding faster to market changes. - Laying the foundation for AI is key for future adoption
Once you’ve automated basic things like data collection, it becomes much easier to layer on advanced analytics or generative AI tools to summarize findings, flag anomalies, or generate action plans.
What This Means for Your Hotel
Whether you're operating a single property or a portfolio of hotels, chances are your team is spending too much time on repetitive, manual tasks. With a thoughtful approach to automation, you can unlock significant efficiency gains and future-proof your operations — without overhauling your tech stack.
At Triptease, we’re working with some of our clients to identify exactly these kinds of opportunities — from reporting to messaging to pricing optimization — and help them take their first steps toward meaningful AI adoption.
