Free ITB workshop: Making the most of your booking engine with Avvio

There is just over a week left until the travel community gathers at ITB, which means you still have time to book your free ticket to our direct booking workshop series!

Spaces are filling up, but we can still squeeze you into the six sessions we’re holding on our stand (no. 100 in hall 8.1). You’ll pick up the best tricks and tips for growing revenue from your hotel’s website and get the chance to receive specific advice about your hotel. Each workshop will be co-hosted by one of our trusted partners so there will be plenty of expert insight on hand from the likes of Avvio, ReviewPro, Fastbooking and more.

To give you an idea of what to expect, we spoke to Ian Sloan, Avvio’s VP of Client Strategy, who will take to the Triptease stage on March 8th to explain how to make the most of your booking engine. The topic is red hot right now — take a look at our analysis of booking engine conversion — and Ian will be leaving no stone unturned during his talk, covering personalization, pricing and seamless guest experience.

“Not all booking engines are created equal,” Ian says. “The world has changed and the days when the same customer experience can be given to everyone are gone. E-commerce giants like Amazon have set the benchmark and there is an expectation from customers that booking a hotel should be just the same.”

He will take us through what hotels should look for in a booking engine and explain why it’s the end of the road for the one-size-fits-all approach to service. “The likes of Netflix, Uber and Spotify have set the bar so high that most of us consider that level of personalization to be normal. If I have already made a booking and I come back to the site and you look like you’ve never seen me before, its a lousy customer experience.”

Other than booking engines, Ian is tipping artificial intelligence, blockchain and Airbnb’s recent push into the hotel market to be major talking points at ITB.

Reserve your spot at his workshop to hear more, or sign-up for one of the five others today. Did we mention it’s completely free of charge? We have also been upping our swag game this year, and it’s worth a trip to the stand in itself!
